BMT-DW – DROP WEIGHT TESTER
BESMAK® BMT-DW Drop Weight Tester is designed to evaluate the impact resistance and toughness of materials at various impact velocities. It features an adaptable drop weight system that can be configured for low-speed impacts (~2.2 m/s) using a larger mass or higher-speed impacts (~6.6 m/s) using an acceleration mechanism. This flexibility makes the BMT-DW suitable for a wide range of impact tests, including those required by automotive industry standards. The tester’s efficient feeding and safety system provides optimal operator convenience and protection: pre-conditioned specimen plates can be loaded and impacted in less than five seconds, allowing many repeated puncture tests without the need for an external temperature chamber between tests. The instrument is also versatile enough to perform specialized impact tests such as Compression After Impact (CAI) as well as standard Charpy and Izod impact tests.
